The iris story

iris is the result of one of the biggest Research & Development efforts in Hanna's history. Our vision was to make a visible spectrophotometer that's a class leader in simplicity, accuracy, and technology. With iris, we achieved this.

For winemakers

iris brings a new dimension to Hanna's trusted product range for winemakers. The 340 nm to 900 nm wavelength range analyzes L-malic acid, volatile acidity, reducing sugars, color, and more on the clear and easy-to-follow display.

Split beam technology

Advanced split beam technology means simple results you can trust: start up takes less than 60 seconds, calibration is automatic, and there is 0% drift with ±1.5 nm accuracy.

Tungsten-halogen quality

Target a wide range of wavelengths with the superior light quality of the tungsten-halogen lamp. One lamp lasts more than 1,000 hours. Replacement lamps are shipped pre-aligned and ready for installation. No more alignment nightmares.

Compact and portable

iris is lighter and has a smaller footprint than other specs in its class, but offers a larger, easier-to-read LCD screen. Don't have an accessible power source close by? Run iris on battery for over 8 hours.

Analysis and data

No more messy notes. Store up to 9,999 data points on iris – 20x more than other specs in this class – and easily export results to USB as a .csv or .pdf file.
